On Thursday, April 5, 2018 the Association for Social Research and Communication (UDIK) will organize a press conference in order to present a publication War crimes committed in Sarajevo’s Grbavica – verdicts supported by Ministry of Culture and Sport of Sarajevo Canton. It is a part of the edition named War crimes – transcripts of verdicts of courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The publication will be presented by Edvin Kanka Ćudić, UDIK’s coordinator, and Lejla Čengić from the Institute for Missing Persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The publication includes five convictions for war crimes committed in Sarajevo’s Grbavica, issued by the State Court, Cantonal Court in Sarajevo and the Supreme Court of the Federation. They were sentenced Duško Dabetić alias Dabe, Predrag Mišković, Saša Baričanin, Veselin Vlahović alias Batko and Zoran Dragičević alias Krompir, from 6 to 42 years in prison. Veselin Vlahović, also known as the monster from Grbavica, got the biggest penalty, for killing, torturing, inhumanly acting with the civilian population, raping, taking hostages, collectively punishing, unlawfully detaining and plundering people as a member of the armed formations of the Republika Srpska Army. Also, the book includes a list of exhumed persons missing in the Grbavica area.
The press conference will take place in ADRA BiH, Tepebašina 5, Sarajevo at 11am.
