On Friday, May 13, 2016, the Association for Social Research and Communications (UDIK) will organize an activity to mark the anniversary of the killing of two years old child Matea Juric. The half-hour activity will be carried out at noon on Alija Izetbegovic Square in Zenica.
Two years old girl Matea Juric was killed on May 13, 1992 in the Radakovo village in the car of her father Drago Juric. She was the first civilian victim of war in Zenica who died by gunfire during a military blockade of the barracks on Bilimisce. While some argue that it was the stray bullet, others point out that the car was fired by automatic firearm at close range. Even today it is not confirmed who killed this child and the investigation regarding the killing of Matea Juric was transferred in 2006 from Zenica Prosecutor’s Office in the jurisdiction of the B&H Prosecutor’s Office.
With this activity UDIK wants to pay homage to this innocent child, but also remind the public of this inhuman act for which no one was punished.
